$5,000 Grant

The Ready to Roll Collective addresses a lack of reliable transportation by partnering with a local GES auto body shop to repair donated or abandoned vehicles and gift them to families in need.

Ready to Roll Collective

The Ready to Roll Collective is a neighborhood-powered initiative that tackles one of the most overlooked barriers to family stability: lack of reliable transportation.
Through a partnership with a local GES auto body shop, the Collective will repair donated or abandoned vehicles and gift them to families who need them most — opening up access to work, school, and critical services.

Modeled after programs like Good Neighbor Garage but tailored specifically for GES, Ready to Roll is community-built, low-barrier, and grassroots.
Alongside the donation program, Ready to Roll aspires to explore ways to create an income stream that feeds into the program. One viable option could be to either partner with Xcel to install onsite EV chargers to generate revenue and support the sustainability of the project long-term.

Scope of the Project

  • Vehicle Repairs: 10 vehicles repaired and donated in the first year.

  • Family Donations: Vehicles gifted quarterly through a simple, trusted referral process.

  • Nonprofit Formation: Establish a new 501(c)(3) entity to manage grants, donations, and partnerships.

  • Community Outreach: Host info sessions, work with local schools, nonprofits, and faith organizations to connect with families.
