APPLY TO BE A BOARD MEMBER

Power and money for this neighborhood, run by this neighborhood.

The GES CIF puts real resources and real decisions into the hands of people who live, work, and build in Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea — and we're looking for board members to help steer it.

"To redistribute power and resources by funding community-led programs and projects that disrupt inequity and foster generational well-being in Globeville, Elyria, and Swansea."

— GES CIF Mission

WHAT WE STAND FOR

Six values that guide every decision

Accountability

We answer to the community first — not the other way around.

Transformative Justice

We address harm by changing the conditions that caused it.

Ownership

This is our fund, our neighborhood, our call to make.

Cooperative Economy

Resources are shared and built together, not stockpiled.

Interdependence & Solidarity

What helps one part of GES helps all of it.

Neighborhood Power

Decisions about GES get made by the people of GES.

THE ROLE

What a board member actually does

Show up & vote

Join two Zoom meetings a month (every other Monday, 4–6pm), review budgets and plans, and help guide the CIF's strategy and finances.

Build the fund

Help spot partners, donors, and collaborators, and lend your story to outreach that grows what the CIF can do.

Be a connector

Bring the voice of your block, your block club, or your community group into the room — and bring CIF updates back out to your networks.

Hold the line on ethics

Disclose conflicts of interest, keep deliberations confidential, and approach every conversation with openness and respect.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You don't need a finance degree — you need a stake in GES

If you've ever thought "someone should be deciding this differently" — this is your chance to be that someone.

  • You live, work, or are active in Globeville, Elyria, or Swansea.

  • You care about community empowerment and equitable development.

  • You're willing to work collaboratively and share leadership.

  • Experience with organizing, nonprofit work, finance, communications, or grantmaking helps — but it's not required.
